For all of you Bass heads out there (not base... ;) )
So, I hadn't seen it mentioned, but I have been very annoyed by a certain vibration coming from the rear of my car when the bass is turned up (2 12's). Though it was the rear deck for the longest time and have dampened the hell out of it (big noise from where the middle seatbelt is bolted up top).
Found my sound coming from the upper middle brake light cover...certain bass frequencies cause that thing to slap against the rear glass. My solution...some adhesive backed weatherstrip from home depot. $8 solution...
Not the best or most detailed pics, but such a simple diy...figured you all can figure it out.

I've located a new rattle I have, though it's not due to audio. The top compartment (carbon fiber looking ones) rattles on it's hinges. Popping it open takes the rattle away so I gotta figure that out..drives me nuts. I HATE! rattles. Lol

Thanks for sharing all...
Monkey...ironically, I ran my bass knob to in that compartment so I leave it open now most of the time anyway. Funny enough, maybe it was the annoying rattle I was hearing that I couldn't pinpoint for the life of me!

I would start with a small square of Dynamat (or equivalent) to the top of the inside of the compartment and to the back of the door.
You don't realize just how many rattles you have until you pull the car apart and deaden the entire thing. The upper console where the lights are are another source as well as the sunroof shade especially when it's partially open. Some of these make noise just driving down the road. I never noticed it until the noises were gone.

Yeah the sunroof isn't tight when closed either. I've been thinking about a way to put something up there to make it basically non-moveable as you can push it slightly up and it will fall back down when closed all the way. Maybe a small sliver of tissue paper or something as I never use the sunroof anyways

A large strip of vibration mat on the top of the sunroof shade will cure the noise. I can have mine open with the bass cranked and no noise. With lots of bass you can see it moving when it's open but by that point everything is so loud you can't hear rattles.
I used the new Second Skin black mat on mine. I was worried with the silver backed mat you might be able to see it through the sunroof from above.
