for all u 3sixty users
for all u 3sixty users
where do u have ur gain levels inside the 3sixty software menu? and do u guys have hiss at volume zero and if so how bad. Im sure there must be some especially when using an amp that puts out more then 100 watts per channel cause there is already hiss from the stock amp that gets amplified. since we all use the same car im sure somebody that got it right could share some of it
If i put it at 0db then i get lots of hiss but when lowering u dont get the 5 volt output anymore and by - 10 im sure its less then 2 volts wich by then the hiss dissaperas a little not at all thoe but then when i put the gains up to get the desired volume i get the hiss back in
it really sucks not having an aftermarket deck

Safe to say your hiss is likely coming from the factory head unit or amp, not much you can do except verify you're setting the 360 up to where you can get the volume on the head unit up to about 25 and match that to a normal, comfortable volume on the 360. This way, you're sending a maximized signal to noise ratio to the 360...and go through your system grounds thuroughly. You might wanna take a look at where the factory head unit begins to provide clipping, that will help you determine best volume to limit the system to wrt to the factory volume, and help you set the gains on the 360 to match your cleanest output to your most comfortable listening level.
There are a lot of folks that will adhere to the car audio bible and say, "You must match the highest clean output on the head unit to the highest clean output on the 360...but if you don't find a way to get rid of that hiss, and you set it up that way, you'll be riding around with head unit volume at around 14, and sending a whole lotta hiss out to your 360 (hiss will occupy a greater space in the music)...if you set it up so that you get a comfortable volume level at a higher point on the head unit, however, you'll do better from a noise perspective..but you'll have to use volume discipline to avoid sending your head unit into clipping. In other words, you're trading head room further down the line for a cleaner output.
Oh, the 360 has a master volume control...disregard the above
Just make sure you use the 360 volume control, and make sure your head unit is at least volume level 25 (30 is likely as good or better) and set the rest of your system gains accordingly.
