Alarms

I am curious how many of you plan to stay with the factory alarm or will you add a better one? Do you think the factory alarm is good enough?? If we add a new alarm would it mess with the computer or the key that recognizes the driver? I am worried that the factory alarm may not be good enough, but at the same time don't want to screw anything up by adding an after market alarm. So.... what are you all doing?

a lot of people tend to do the Viper Alarm setup. its on my to do list. but i have heard some stories on the forums aswell as seen pictures of stolen and burned TL's. so i don't really feel 100% confident in the stock alarm, but its not a bad alarm.

good question. have you looked in the garage yet? Lots of useful info in there. I do not plan on adding an alarm. If they want the damn thing bad enough they can have it. Thats what insurance is for...

Same here!

If you want an alarm there are some out there that will intergrate with the factory set-up. The main thing is to find a good stable installer that has experience with Acura and the factory set-up. When installed correctly you will have to develop a system for locking/unlocking the doors. If you lock w/alarm remote, you must unlock the same way or you set off one of the alarms.
