Mine is really quiet too. I've heard some others and they are pretty subtle too.

I don't think so...this is a common complaint of TL owners. I just watch for the lights to flash. Maybe you could get an aftermarket alarm installed if it bugs you too much.

I think the speaker for the beep is located inside the driver front fender shield behind the wheel. You can always move it to a location that isn't covered so the sound is not muffled. My 08 MDX beep speaker is located in the rear of the car and it's 5 times louder than my TL.

I always end up pressing the lock button several times so that there are a couple beeps.

I do wish it was louder too. I guess having it softer is a good thing too since it's not as noticeable and won't say, "Look at me! I just parked my TL!" ...unless of course that's what you are aiming for.

trew - thanks for the info. ill check that out when its not raining but it does make more sense to have it in the back of the car since 90 % of the time i pull into a spot and walk away from my car to the back then alarm. maybe ill replace that speaker with a w3 JbL so i can get noticed

Yeah I think if the chirp/beep was just a little bit louder it would be perfect.

On a side note, that chirp/beep is one the things I like the most about my TL. It makes the car sound classy. I always liked the Lexus (or Toyota) factory alarms because of the chirp/beep most of them make, you know, the "beep, beep" when unlocking and then just a "beep" when locking. Even though our TLs dont make any sound when we unlock them, the beep when we lock them is good enough for me. I definately prefer the beep over the horn sound, that just makes the car sound like a Ford, Dodge, Chevy...etc.
