Aftermarket GPS Navigation / DVD Player Question

I have an '04 TL without the navigation system, a/t. Does anyone know of any good aftermarket GPS navigation systems that will work in the TL? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Umm...won't any aftermarket navi system work in the TL (or any car for that matter) since they are self-contained? Maybe I don't understand your question...

I guess I meant what size/style of aftermarket NAV systems will fit into the TL's dash spot? Also, does Acura sell a replacement for the dash panel to accomodate aftermarket navigation systems, or will the dash work the way it is right now?

Oh, I see. Unfortunately I cannot comment on which in-dash systems work in the TL. However, I'm sure that someone else can or has before. Try searching the 3G TL forum and see what you come up with.

Just out of curiousity....why would you want to go through the expense and hassle of having an in dash GPS system installed when you could pick up anyone of the Garmin Street Pilot models that have MSRP's anywhere from about 600.00 to 900.00 depending on the model (and I am sure they can be had for less than that at places like Best Buy and Circuit City). Plus, with a Street Pilot you can take it in any car you are traveling in. I think that makes much more sense than having an in dash navigation system.
