Aftermarket Amp question

I installed a hifonics brutus 1500 amp recenlty and for some reason it just does not sound right. I have checked everything and it all looks good. My question is this. Does it matter if i install the RCA's before or after the factory amp. Im wondering if the factory amp could be messing up my sound quality of my aftermarket amp. Kind of like a "your only as stong as your weekest link". Also does anyone use hifonic amps. If so do they sound ok for you?

Yes, you do need to take the inputs from before the factory amp for a clean signal. Are you using this amp to drive a sub?
If you are, make sure your using the low pass filter, and set it to 80hz or lower.
