Anyone use or know how to use this feature? I'm trying to "trick" my system into thinking I'm in the lower 48 so it doesn't do the "out of area" screen and lock out a lot of the navi features. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

 

it's there so if your car is showing that you are off-roading when you are on a real road and are off by a little so you can reposition yourself quickly. However this will not work in the sense that you want it to, once the GPS signals get refreshed it will put you back into alaska.
