I'm new to this audio thing, and my system is coming along slowly cuz im buying all used products.. I am going to be running a 12" alpine type R, and a JL 500/1 v2.. The amp im buying tomorrow, and the guy is trying to sell me the 1.0 directed cap with it. Should I even get it?? I didn't think JL amps needed it but what the hell do I know.. Anyways if I don't need it it will save me $50,and that can go towards better wires... Lemme know what u think

 

you really dont need it, they are maily used for extremely large systems, if you are just running the one or evn a second amp, you will not need it

Good news!! I'm getting the amp for $200, I think that's a steal considering it's the v2
