Add navigation after purchase?

Hey, crazy question...

I bought a non-nav 2004TL but now realize that I should have sprung for the Nav model. Is it possible that Navigation can be added at a reasonable cost?

Not unless you want an aftermarket navi system. It's not possible to put the factory system in a non-navi car.

no, it's definitely possible.

i remember someone doing this a while ago. but it'll cost you quite a bit if you are going to have someone else do the install.

it's possible but alot of work involved. there was a thread about it with pictures a while ago and it was not for the faint of heart. parts will cost you 1500 if you get a good deal but more likely closer to 2000 and up. then the labor involved is not easy. i'm not sure if even stereo install guys will know how to do this in a straight foward manner. so if you do end up buying all the parts necessarry and pay someone to do it the cost will be as much or my opinion more than what you would have payed at the dealership. get an aftermarket navi system, it will be cheaper to get that installed.

well, i think you can buy the parts somewhat cheap... i remember seeing quite a few navi screen/unit on ebay (oem ones) w/ final selling price around 300, 800 being the highest i've seen. besides the navi unit, i think all you need is the temp LCD. i think everything else is there.

edit: ah, forgot about the nav dvd in the trunk...

Yes, everyone thought it was impossible until this guy proved them all wrong! Here's the thread.

The conversion was complete, down to the steering wheel controls. Simply amazing!
