Question Add aftermarket monoblock for subs

I'm trying to add aftermarket subs to my stock audio system. I have two 12' Kickers and a Kenwood KAC-715 amp. I was wondering if I would be able just cut the sub wires from the factory harness amp and connect them to the after market amp (while also wiring power, ground, and remote to the after market amp separately), or if I would need any line output converter for that. I have heard that some cars have an electric communication where if I tamper with the stock wiring it could mess up the entire system, which is something I do not want to do. Any info that could help is appreciated.

You'll need a LOC.

I can't remember what the deal is these stock HU's, is the processing/EQ done at the radio or the amp level? I've seen it done using an amp that has balanced inputs and soldering RCA plugs to the wire leads and plug in. I did it with my TSX but that was a ideal scenario where everything was done at the amp so I was able to grab signal right from the radio.
