I have an 06 base that i upgraded to the complete 07 nav with acuralink and navtraffic. I have been searching but not much luck on setting up the acuralink.

I have an unlocked/jailbroken iphone 3g on tmobile and works flawlessy with the HFL but acuralink i cannot get to work. I called the dealer and they have no idea about setting it up. they said they never do it, the cars acuralink system is alrdy working on the cars so they dont have to set anything up with them. The service guy at acura said he was going to research it for me so who knows...

Can anyone tell me step by step how to set this up or what custom settings to add for the apn or user name and pw etc for tmobile in the actual acuralink setup in the navigation system.... like what exactly u have entered into the system for tmobile users?

just saw this thread. Even acura dealers don't know what the hell's going on with the phone/acura link tie in. Mine first told me that the TL is so advanced that only one phone on the market can talk to the system. Then he told me that you don't need a cell phone for acura link because the car will just transmit the data via the XM satellite. He stuck to this second story even after I told him that I work in television, and that part of my job involves doing satellite live shots, and so I know what it takes to send a signal to the bird (namely, a bigassed dish on the roof and about a quarter million dollars worth of hardware in the back), and our cars don't have it.

Then another tech actually called Acura (or said he did) and they told him it uses standard cell phone data protocols (which would make sense). Either that's true, which means some cell providers are blocking Acura's data for whatever reason, or it's false, which means Acura has some weird incompatibility in its phone connection.

Bottom line, it's been discussed in this forum before, and so far no one knows.

 

Well im curious if anyone has theirs hooked up and been able to use it. if so, how did u set it up?

See when i attempt to, it says connecting and has a timer bar under that and within literally like 1 second says it cant connect or whatever. didnt even really try to!

Are you trying to Link your phone to the car? Or is it already linked and it just doesnt transmit calls. Mine is hooked up and works GREAT. I can maybe help if I understand better

 

The phone is sync'd with the car via bluetoof but i cant get the acuralink to work so i can receive msgs etc..

 

Here's an interesting add-on. When the car was in for some warranty work last week, they did an update on all the vehicle's software. Now in the easy setup for acuralink, Verizon no longer shows up as a network. I guess Acura finally figured out that Verizon blocks their data.
