Acura TL Clear Diffusers Question

Hey guys,

Unfortunately, my custom headlights developed a small amount of condensation, so I will need to open them back up and re-do the butyl.

While having them open, I'm thinking of adding clear diffusers this time. I have a stupid and really quick question: Can someone confirm that I can remove the amber portion of a Acura TL Type-S Diffuser? Or do I need to simply by an aftermarket diffuser? My assumption is I can remove the clear portion, but I want to confirm before proceeding with searching for Type-S headlights.

Unique Style Racing has aftermarket clear diffusers back in stock, but they're not the best quality and I have been speaking with several other individuals (including Bruce) who have echoed the same comments (diffusers don't fit properly, melt in heat, etc.)

I have been in contact with Klearz and their customer service department has confirmed that the 3g clear diffusers are no longer producing their lenses, so Type-S diffusers might be my best bet.

Any feedback you all can provide would be awesome.

Did you also post on the TL Facebook page?

but yes you can remove the Amber portions on the type s diffusers. Leaves a few small gaps on either end, and the texture is different under them vs the rest of the diffuser, but it can be done. With what you’ve done to the rest of your headlights, I’d wrap the Amber pieces in CF and put them back. I think something like that would look better than not having them at all

Yes, I was the one who posted in the Facebook page.

And yes, I like your idea. That might be a good solution. Thanks for the feedback.
