Accessing sound settings

i'm looking into some tablet installs and i'm going over all the +/- of losing my oem screen (2008 type s). it seems like most of my options and display can be seen through the 1" preview window up top but the one thing i can't find is the sound settings without using the screen. currently i click the "audio" button below the screen then i touch the "sound" button on the oem screen. that then shows me left/right balance, front/rear, sub control, etc. i don't normally change these settings but looking in the future i'd like to still have access to these settings in case i ever need to adjust balance or the sub level.

is there a way to access this if i didn't have my oem touch screen available? how do non navi models get to the sound settings without a touch screen?

i've been contemplating on leaving the screen, but just move it down where the cubby shelves are. that way, you have stock everything and a more modern tablet up top

solves the back up cam, keeps the clock in time, and allows you to adjust "sound" if ever needed

hmm i didn't think of that but i don't remember seeing anyone with the oem nav screen doing this, it's usually the guys that don't have the oem nav system that do that. i do know it's a lot more work though. the nice part about the tablet mod with an oem screen is that you can easily flip the screen and head unit around to get that needed space. i'll have to see if it's possible to move the oem screen, there's a ton more functionality (aka wires) that you need to relocate down there.

i'll look into it, thanks!

big thanks to zsameer, i've been talking to him about tablet stuff and he just told me if you hit the audio button, and then push in the right knob, it accesses the sound options. i just tried it and it works perfect! one more "challenge" out of the way to getting a tablet installed

On my 07 with NAV. I don't even hit the audio button most of the time. I just push the right nob in and then turn it clockwise to scroll.
