4th Gen antenna mod DIY

This diy is to swap the turtle shell antenna with the 4th gen shark fin. First start with parts ,http://www.xxxxxoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no (replace x's with the brand of your car...). You'll need items 9 and 10 (different size thread). Once you've received it, you're gonna have to take it apart. First start with the plug, use a needle tool to remove it as it is different from 3rd gen. With light in the background, look thru the wire side of plug to see where to insert the needle tool. Now remove plate (4 small phillips screws). Pry plastic wire holder off the plate. Now with a set of pliers, break the sides of rectangle off. Now drill towards one side of opening, use a bit large enough to remove wire contact plug. Now remove everything and seal the opening. I just taped the roof side of the plate then used jb weld. With same sized bit used before drill into the opening of the threaded portion, try not to ruin the treads. Insert plug thru new hole you just widened and re install the chip. Now remove the brake light liner on ceiling and the rear dome light. Open the lens and you'll find two 10mm screws, remove them to expose you old antenna. Remove anntenna and plug and reinstall on and with new antenna. Not too descriptive I know, I'm a grunt not a clerk!

Oh yea, notice on the interior pic that I'm not fully center, that
That's the only way to cover the existing hole in the roof.

I e wondered about that. I recently bought an '08 TL and the radio sucks. If I hook up my iPhone and play music, it sounds great, but the audio out of the radio is horrible, and the reception stinks. And I live in Dallas where the transmitters can't be too far away.
