3rd GEN acura TL CD player.

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anybody handy has been curious enough to dissect our CD players and see what was wrong with them.

I've never had an issue with the CD players in my 2006 or 2008 TL-S.

I just remember reading countless threads about the CD player failing at one point. I am sure many people have had to replace their CD players on this forum. Mine died 6 months ago and I haven't been able to find a good replacement. I have checked in the Acurazine Garage and no luck so far.
I'm not real good at electronics and pulling stuff apart otherwise I would've experimented with mine.

I took mine out of my 07 type s and I couldn't find the problem but was able to get my discs out. it kept making a winding noise so I decided to take it to a Honda dealer, no Acura dealer close, and since I bought a 3rd party warranty when I got the car it was covered. they sent it to the manufacturer and they rebuilt it, took a month but works great now.

Carstereohelp.com will repair your unit, you would have to mail it to them. Check them out. You can call and talk to someone. I had them repair my OEM amp.

Its the changer mechanism, A guy on DIYMA (Matt R) said its most likely an moderately easy fix if you take it to an electronics repair shop. We talked about it when I was thinking about modding the HU, which became a moot point since he does not do it anymore.

I did not want to spend the $ for him to mod the HU, and then have it crap out on me.

Don't know if anyone is still having this issue. I've replaced the unit in my 2004 tl and now the cd player is not working again. Might have to replace it again because the last one couldn't be repaired. Reputable shop kept it for a month and just wanted to figure it out because it was the first unit they couldn't fix. It beat them down. Scared to go back now.
