Hey, I'm new to the community and after realizing I should probably make an account, did, and now can see about getting more detailed information about the issues I'm having.
As I think we all know, the 3G TL is infamous for it's horrible rattles and I'm all about fixing the one I've got in mine. I just put in a new system from Mobile Max. It just replaced the factory speakers with some that are a bit better. I also replaced the factory amp with one from Max. I told myself the rattle was fine at first but now after a few weeks, it's hard to want to listen to some of my favorite songs because I know that devilish rattle will spoil them. After an hour of testing I've found that even with the rear deck lid off (pictured below) I'm still having the rattle. If anybody has any information on how to fix it, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm really hoping I don't have to just live with it because it's driving me crazy. It seems pushing underneath the factory sub location from the trunk helps to alleviate the noise slightly but I'm pretty sure it's just deadening the sound instead of eliminating it.
I think I have? The link is broken for the video and the pictures don't show up for me so I honestly have zero idea how to do it. I see the slats next to the trunk light but pushing up on them did nothing. I think that's what the post said to do.
Start sticking foam everywhere! I had to do this and ended up finding out it was the 3rd seatbelt retractor (center seat) and got the dealer to replace mine a LONG time ago, like 2008...
