3G TL navi issues
Hey guys my name is david and I just bought my TL 2 weeks ago and I love but here is the little issue I have when I turn the navi on the load up screen loads up the picture of the earth with the honda logo instead of the ACURA sign and also when I turn my radio on I don't have no sub woofer control just bass and treble I hope the acurazine family can help me with this.....

You bought a TL with "hacked Navi" software.
As I understand it, the easiest way to get it back to stock is to replace the Navi DVD with a newer version DVD; the drive should download the appropriate Navi system files over the software currently on the system.
IDK if that will also bring back the subwoofer controls, but there are a number of threads on doing the hack (as well as a couple on getting rid of it) that you can peruse.
Welcome to AZ.

This same thing happened to me once upon a time and my system wasn't hacked.

1. The previous owner of your TL most likely did not hack the navi but instead bought a Honda navigation disc (probably cheaper from eBay) and that's why you see the Honda logo instead. Honda and Acura navi discs work interchangeably the only difference is the load up screen.
2. The reason you probably don't have a subwoofer control option in audio setting is he probably disconnected your subwoofer connector in the rear deck. The only reason he would have done that is maybe he hooked up a aftermarket subwoofer and did not want to still use the factory subwoofer which is known to cause rattling in the rear deck. Instead he unhooked the connector and that's why the subwoofer option is greyed out in your audio options.
Simply reconnect it. Go to your trunk and pull down the carpeted liner and look around the subwoofer you will see a connector with a red and a black wire. Just plug it back in.

Hacking could get rid of the "nag" screen, or necessity to hit "OK" before the Navi was visible. Hacking also allowed owners to put in a custom start-up splash screen, with "Honda" instead of "Acura" or even their own photos/graphics, and also permitted access to certain features like the instant MPG reading that DMZ mentioned.
I was never tempted to do the hack, and thus don't know if there is any effect on the audio controls.
BTW, let us know if you see an extra connector or wiring in the upper and lower armrest compartments, or in the trunk.
We'll be here.
If you have an Acura Navi DVD installed now, then your Navi was hacked.

I have the hack on me oem Navi. Not only do I have the instant MPG, I still have all controls over my stereo (aka subwoofer control still works).
Seems like the subwoofer control would be part of the stereo and not the Navi disc at all. What would the disc have to do with the sound system? If that is the case, maybe the disc you have was meant for a car that never had a subwoofer from the factory. My '03 Accord 6MT only had bass/treble control, I believe. But again, being in Canada, Navi wasn't even an option for that car.

2004 acura tl
Alright hello to everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm seeking for any help....
Anyways i started off with reading all the threads on here and got inspired to do a non navi to navi conversion. After a few weeks of gathering parts I got a 2006 navi screen and a 2008 DVD player in the back, antenna for the gps and the custom harness from the navi to the screen from martin( guy from ebay that makes them custom).
After instal everything works perfect except for my front left speaker and my back left right speaker aren't sounding as loud as my front right and my back left. I was wondering if something went wrong because I replaced my right speaker with the left and it's not the speaker so something might have happened during instal! I'm stumped on this issue so I'm asking for any sort of HELP!
On another note I would like to see if it's possible to take out the bottom compartment under the radio so I can replace it with my old non navi radio display so I can have the display of the ac and the temp, if there's a way to have that at the bottom with the radio in the middle and the navi at the top? I could really use some help with that as well.
Thanks in advance.
