I got a free head unit from a 2008 non-nav. Will it work in previous years? What is the difference between 2006 and 2008?

 

I now realize that I'm more interested in whether the display units from an 08 would work on older models.

 

Connector is not the same, so some modification will be required. You will need wiring harness connector from '07-08. Then find pinout from both of them and compare.
Compass will not work. You will have just circle and a car.

I found the thread and book marked it.

 

I got the clip from the 08 that the display came out of. I have the part number for the compass, I've looked it up but can't figure out where on the car it is located in order to remove it from the part out.
Anypne know where it is?
