A friend has a 2007 TL and has the screen and the DVD player in the
trunk. I wanted to know if I put in the Nav DVD disc. Will his
Nav work? Looks like all you need it the disc but I don't see a
button in the front where you can ouch on a Nav button.

 

Hello Blue, I am a bit confused about your post? Your friend has a separate DVD player and screen in the trunk? He wants to make the navigation work in his trunk?

 

Like princelybug, I am confused by your question. If your friend has an unmodified TL w/ Nav, all he or she needs is the Nav disc. Just insert and a functional system will take care of the rest. I've heard the nav discs are often times stolen at wholesalers and auction houses on their way to the secondary market. I'm only speculating, but perhaps that is what happened to your friend.

 

You need to insert a disk in the trunk to have the Nav work- it's not a boot-only once and use forever kind of product. And you cannot use the nav screen to watch DVD movies unless you do some mods if that's what the OP is asking.

 

sorry but the confusion but LaCostaRacer seems to have answered my question. Pretty much is has the car and in front has the screen but no Nav control. When I look in the trunk I saw the DVD unit and I remembered reading that is requires a DVD disc to have the Nav work.
I just wanted to make sure before he goes and spend 200 for the disc.
