I have a 2007 acura tl type s the rear view camera doesnt have lines showing where i can go, but i noticed that in one of my friends 2008 acura tl type s he had the lines. Someone had told me there was a way i could get the lines put in? if anyone coulld possibly help me with this

I haven't seen an 2008 TL-S with lines in the rear view camera. Are you sure he doesn't have an aftermarket setup? The new 2009 TL has them, but that is overlaid by the navi system

If it's overlayed by the navi system, does that mean the navi dvd itself? If so, could it be because he had the updated 2010 navi disk? Just throwing out thoughts here.

I don't think the new navi disc would work in the 3rd-gen TLs.

I was thinking the updated version for 2007 model cars, not the actual disks from the 2010 models....

It looks like we can update to the 2010 White DVD Map Update v4.81

Not saying that this will give the lines, but just pointing out that there is an updated disk we '07 owners can purchase.

I have the v4.81 and i can confirm there are NO lines. I also have a 2010 TL back up cam for my front cam mod im going to do at some point and i tested it and found there are no lines using that cam either. So between that and a bud of mine that told me it can be toggled on and off in the controls of the 09-10 TL and said its in the system.. with that said not sure if there is anyway to make this happen then unfort

The new TL uses a hard drive based system, so it's probably overlaying the data and not the camera itself. Converting to a HDD system from the 2010 TL will be nearly impossible since the HVAC and Navi controls are handled completely differently.

And who is that bud of yours LOL, I was thinking of you when I read this, glad you posted! That said, to the OP and everyone else, the yellow lines are features of the 09/10 TLs w/ navi, and NOT the function of the camera. I am 100% sure of this. Additionally, no 08 TLs have the yellow lines (regardless if it's a base or S).

Additionally, the "disc" for the 09/10 TLs is simply an update disc, it is not used to actually run the system, like our outdated systems Plus it's a once and done use disc; you can't use it to update your car, your friend's car, etc.
