2006 TL Audio upgrade

Hey all,

New to the forum here but I've been looking to upgrade the stock sound system and i have an idea, just no idea if it'll work, i don't know much about electrical lol.
I have an arc audio Kar series 400.4 amplifier with 2 Ultra subs A-12's and looking to get a pair of JL's C2-525X's to replace the rear decks.
So i was wondering, could i bridge the channels of the amp and wire the subs in a parallel to run at a 2 ohm impedance (originally 4) and wire the JL's in a series to run at 8 ohms?? i wanted to do this to take the strain off of my factory amp because I'm also looking to run a set of component polk db series speakers from that amp for the front doors and tweeters. is what I'm saying correct and if it is, is it at all possible??

Thanks in advance for any input

Based on what you are saying, this cannot be done. If you have a four channel amp, you can bridge 2 channels to run your subs. Make sure your four channel amp being bridged can handle a 2 ohm load. Most 4 channels amps cannot. The other two channel can run your rear speakers. Now if you want to hook up your front speakers to the amp, you can as long as all four speakers are 4 ohm. This will put a 2 ohm load on the two stereo channels. You will lose fade between the front and rear since all 4 speakers are going to two channels. My recommendation would be to hook up the fronts to the amp, keep the rears on the factory amp and use one sub if the amp will not support 2 ohm bridged. Then save up and purchase a mono amp down the road for the subs which will handle 2 ohm load(use both subs) and use your current 4 channel for the front and rears with fade control. I personally do not like rear fill, you sit up front so put better speakers up front and just leave the factories in the rear. Obviously it is all preference. Hope this helps.
