I posted something similar a few months ago, but can not seem to location it.. so I will update this with more info.

I have a issue with my radio after the car/radio warms up. It works fine until the car has either been sitting out in the sun, or the radio has been playing for about 20 minutes. It quits playing, and produces really loud pulses of static moving from speaker to speaker, and getting louder. I need to shut off the radio, let the car sit and cool down, like overnight in the summer months, then it will play for a short time. I tried to replace the amp, but that did not work.
I called the dealer and they wanted about 600-800 dollars to take the radio out and get it fixed. I am reluctant to take it to the dealer, because of the price, and the fact that it is not a solid fail.

Replacing the radio on my own, seems challenging and then I have to deal with the whole radio code thing from another radio.

Just throwing this out there in the hopes that it just might be something else that someone has stumbled across.... thanks.
