2005 TL MP3 Blitzsafe Hon/Aux DMX V.2X Install Instructions?

I bought a Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V.2X aux-in adapter for my 2005 TL automatic (non-navi). I has two RCA female aux inputs that I will adapt to a stereo mini input.

Goal is to have a simple line input jack so I can listen to my Creative MP3 player or the output of my Garmin 360 GPS. Do not intend to use an iPod.

PROBLEM: does anyone have instructions detailing how to take the dash apart so I can get to the radio's multi-plug in the back so I can insert the V.2X adapter?

I don't want to break plastic parts or have rattles in the dash after the install.

Thanks.

Never mind

I found scans of the service manual with clip by clip removal instructions on this forum at

Thanks.

Whoa... you don't have to rip out the entire HU. You can get to the back of the radio by taking off the cover below the steering wheel and the center console's left-side panel (after removing only the left-side aluminum trim piece. It is a bit tough to get at but it can be done.

This guy didn't even go that far and got it done. I had to do what I described above

I just installed the USASPec in my 05 TL about 2 hrs ago. It took me about 3 hours to do. I ended up taking off the silver trip and the side panel on the drivers side and the piece under the stearing wheel. After all that the plug was right on the edge of the stereo. I didn't have XM in my car so I didn't have to worry about pulling the plug but getting the plug in was a pain in the ass for me because I have big fingers. Eventually the girlfriend came to the rescue and her fingers were much smaller and got the plug in. I ran the connector down the side right into the bottom of the center console and plug the ipod into the top compartment.

Its nice and clean and sounds really good. Look at the pictures above for notes and make sure to keep track of what screws came from where. I ended up taking out a lot of screws just trying to get to the plug. Next time I will know better.

I really wasn't that hard at all... just needed a lot of patience to get it done.
