2004 TL 6disc changer Error

hey guys my 6disc keeps erroring and it wont play cd's the radio still works n the navi also

ive gotten quoted 500 bucks to fix it..

im just curious if theres a cheaper way to do this or if any1 has had this happen to them that can give me some advice thanks!

Your CD player is dead. There's no way around this. It's a common issue, all you can do is buy a new cd changes/radio head unit. Mine only cost me about $200 since I bought it from here on the forum.

The only thing is to make sure that the vehicle any second-hand radio comes from is also a 2004, or your navi will stop talking. Alpine changed the wiring after 2004 so no audio will come out from the navigation system if you use a radio from 2005 or later.

thanks duo was curious if i could hook up the Ipod cord to it instead of buying a whole new radio?

I remember reading a DIY here on the forum about how to ghetto-rig an auxiliary connection to the factory radio but it was a long time ago. There's no regular input, at least in the earlier radios as far as I've read.

Look in the 3G garage, and if it's not in there, do a search with terms like

iPod
aux
radio
install

and other such things
