07 TLS, ANC disconnect help needed

I'm trying to disconnect the ANC microphones, but am running into some problems. I've seen where you can "simply" disconnect them at the 2 mics, as well as at the main module behind the dash.

I tried removing the cover on the back one, and it simply broke into about 10 pieces. Once the cover is off (broken), I still can't seem to get to any sort of connection. As for the front cover, I can't figure out how it comes off.

For those of you who have done it, I could use a little help.

Also, if disconnecting it at the controle module behind the dash is easier, please give me some details on how to access that one.

Thanks in advance.

I'm curious as to why you want to disable the ANC. I have to admit that I have been wondering what the differences would be without it. Without being able to turn it off, we really don't know if it works or not!

You have to disconnect it when installing an aftermarket amp and sub...otherwise it interferes with the signal.

I had the guys at the local shop do it... so I can't really tell you exactly. He said it came off really easy, and they had little plugs that just popped out.

I got it done yesterday, and it was anything but easy! I went to pop-off the cover on the rear mic, and it broke into about 10 pieces. After that, I realized that you can't remove it that way. The only way to access it is to drop the headliner from the back, and disconnect it that way. The connector is also locked in place with a zip tie, so you have to carefully cut it before you can disconnect it.

As for the front mic, that's a whole different issue. I cussed at that thing forever, but could not remove the cover no matter what I called it. I could bend it down enough to see the mic inside, and the wire, but they also have that one zip-tied so you can't simply pull the plug. I was faced with 2 choices...break the cover off, unplug the mic, and order a new cover to replace the broken one...or pull it down enough to reach some cutters in there and simply cut the connector wire. I chose option #2.
