ok i read the old thread about upgrading the alarm. Specifically what i need to know, so i can have the tech at the dealership i work for (acura dealership) install the upgrade, is to know where the location of the alarm door open/close thing is. He (the tech) is under the assumption that it is located under the hood, from what i read in the post its located in the door. If anyone knows the specific (and the best location) to tap into the stock alarm so i can upgrade my car with a glass mic and shock sensor is it would be much appreciated. The reason i dont go aftermarket is (A) im leasing and don't want to void my warranty (B) it seems a lot cheaper (C) i like the new key and have no need for a fancy smancy car alarm. I just want upgraded security, seeing as someone broke into my tsx and stole my ipod while i was sleeping in my room about 20 feet from my car. Thank you Very much.

The tech at ACURA didnt know how to upgrade the ACURA alarm system? How long has he been there? I can't help you out with the location but apparently neither can he... does that make me a tech?? lol i kid.

actually he's been working on acuras for a long time, and im sure could fix or install anything i want, and since were good friends he'll do it for free. He simply told me to tell him where and what and he will do it for me. I read the thread again and the guy who seemed to know the most about it, said he forgot if he added diodes. What the tech told me is to get him specific information and he will install it for me. I add the tech said something about under the hood, and since i read on the thread its in the door, im at a loss, and i want to get it install properly so i dont get burgalized again.

the tech you are using is clueless. tell him to got read a little on www.the12volt.com and it will help he do what you want

quit bashing the tech, he doesn't install alarms for a living. He fixes engines and installs accessories as mandated from the manufacturer. I'm asking an extremely simple question. Where do i tap into the stock alarm at, (in the door or under the hood) and where should i have him mount the shock sensor and glass mic. Do i need to have him do something with a diode.

This is the first I've read about upgrading the 07 TL alarm... what is involved, and what does it do? How much?

Any help is always greatly appreciated!
