I'm in a similar dilima as you. My dealership is working on this with me free of charge (awesome service). They are going to try to re-wire and re-pin the 2 connectors that's different between the 07 head unit and the 04-06 head unit. I have an 05 5at w/ navi. I'm upgrading to an 07 Type-S head unit with screen. I have the wire/socket schematic here. check it out:

As for antenna, I thought I found the solution from a fellow AZ member on Honda Civic part number 08B01-SNA-100. but this connector is the opposite of what we needed. We need the female head phone style antenna led connector to recieve our current connector to go into the new 07 head unit. This Civic connector is doing exactly the opposite. They are going from the 07 style connector into our style, the old school connector.

I wonder if Honda have adapter for the opposite of 08B01-SNA-100

How much is the 07 head unit? Can my current navigation display and XM still work with the new unit?

people have wanted this before, and other threads, people have built it for as low as 1800, and as much as 2600 if i remember correctly

for that money, if you're gonna void the warranty anyway, i would just build a carputer

Pulled from the 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ:

A: It has yet to be proven, but the newer system seems to be integrated such that to obtain full functionality of the '07 system, a majority of the system will need to be upgraded. The headunit needs to be upgraded to incorporate MP3 functionality; the navi DVD drive needs to be upgraded to use the new 4.X system and the backup camera; the XM module needs to be upgraded to add XM Nav Traffic. The costs to do such a revamp will run in the thousands.
