When you go in reverse does the camera automatically turn on?

if you have the 07/08 nav dvd drive, yes the oem camera will turn on once you put the car in reverse. not familiar with other non-oem camera setups

I assume that the camera connects to this cable and this cable connect to the 07/08 navi drive in the trunk. Isn't the connector green? Were you able to find the connector?
Thanks

Will look forward to the updates. I found a 2007 TLS camera (and navigation dvd drive + screen + radio) at a local junkyard, and want to install the OEM camera into my 2005 TL. Thanks for posting your progress!

NOTE:this installation was done on a 05 TL with navi and 6spd mt tranny

I ordered the 07/08 NAVI DRIVE w/disc straight thru plug n play to connect since my TL had NAVI already.
Ordered oem cam from a 07 TL from ebay seller, it came with license plate frame as shown on the pics above.
ordered the cam-subwire, but that doesnt connect all the way thru and there is no reference on any acura dealer online for the small section of wire harness needed to finish the hook up, luckly i was able to get the missing connectors with pigtails from kenny416(thanks a lot bro).
I will post some pics of the connectors and the wiring diagram

Were you able to get the part #s for the connectors?

Also since you got the 07/08 drive connected to the 04-06 head unit, did you use your old nav codes or it has to have the 07/08 nav codes.

Does the HFL work? or can you add the 07/08 HFL?

Thanks for the write up.

LEFT side connector goes towards the CAM, the RIGHT side connector goes towards NAV unit
no I couldn't find the connectors part#
once you swap the nav unit to a different one then you do need the code for the new nav unit
Yes, my HFL works

Thanks for your help. Did you try to update the HFL? The green connectors must have some manufacturer number. You'll need a magnify glass to find it.

I thought the 2006 shared the same drive as the 07/08 and would plug & play...right?

So if I want to do this to my 05 TL (I have the Navi) I would need the Alpine head unit (in the trunk) from an 06/07?

OP, thanks for posting those diagrams.

Those helped me reaffirm the connections I need to hook the baby cam I'm taking out of my 06 TSX to put into my 08 TLS.

Osvaldo516, did you get any issues with the touch screen. I have tried the 07/08 drive to the 05 navi screen and the bottom rows seem to be off. It seems that the bottom touch buttons are off two rows. So screen buttons work fine. Some I have to touch under the screen buttons to work.
