07/08 MP3 display question

Have you guys found a way to remove the track listing on the screen for MP3s? I have the number listed twice, and since we can't scroll long titles, every space counts. Looks like the radio adds a track listing, then the one that is coded to the track it's self. I've tried to remove at least the one off the file name, but I can't keep the tracks in order after that, every burning program seems to sort alphabetically.

Even if I can only get rid of one of the numbers, that would free up a couple characters worth of valuable screen real estate.

the track list display for MP3 cds is almost as ancient as the cassette player

but I must say burning MP3s is quite convenient. This feature should have been there since '04

use sony walkman with casette adaptor, looks very clean and tech savvy

i don't think you can do what you want, but you can view the tracks n stuff on the navi screen by pushing the 'audio' button.

i went through A LOT of blank CDs to find out that you cannot do this they way you want. The Acura will assign every MP3 a track number, regardless if there is already one in the filename. Your best bet, remove track numbers from the file name and play everything on random... or leave the track numbers, and get used to seeing the numbers listed twice... and not always matching. I removed all of my track numbers from the filename, and after a couple weeks using random, i don't even notice anymore.

Yeah, I'm leaning in that direction, although I may try to find software that will give me a little more control over listing. Maybe I can find something out there that will let me drag and drop tracks in a certain order and the list stay intact within the folder.

Not a big deal, thanks for the replies. Good to know I was just not overlooking something.

Good luck. If you do find some software that does that, post it up here.
