'07-'08 CD player in a '05 TL

Hey

My cd player on my 05 tl messed up. and i was wondering if i can put the cd player from the newer tl's in there, because they also play mp3s. i would rather put the new one if its a direct fit, anyone done this before or will it fit?

Thanks

there are a few threads about this and I made one of them. Got some vague responses but it doesn't seem to be plug and play and doubt that anyone has done it

you sure they are the same part number? Doesn't 07-08 play MP3s, and I know that 04-06 doesn't. How can they have the same part numbers?

To be plug and play you need a deck with the same code as yours. The code is on the tape deck door. It is like 1TB0, 1TB1 or something like that.

ok I think I recieved the wrong info. However to clear up the confusion there are 2 conectors that both year types share. However there is a third conector which is totally different. In addition the antenna lead has a different connector to the back of the radio as well. So 05-06 and 07-08 years cannot swap back and forth unless some serious, serious wiring is changed.
