Everyone's picture looks like that. This is because our r/v camera lens' are convex.

Yeah, it may look funny but it helps you see the traffic coming from the sides better.

Thats the best part about it, you can use the camera to see around cars when your backing up

emas, you mean with the yellow parking indicator lines?

Not without replacing the nav unit.

Or you could get an overhead transparency, draw yellow lines on it, and pop it on your screen every time you reverse

it has the lines overlaid on the navi screen so it's easier to see whats going on.

We dont have beeping indicators to let you know how close your getting.

the 4th gen doesnt either, but it has a bunch of horizontal lines that tell you how far away you are. I dont remember if each line is 12 or 24 inches, but i can show a generic example.

________(8 feet away)
________(6 feet away)
________(4 feet away)
________(2 feet away)
________(Bumper)

The new Audi's have a projected path that changes as you turn the wheel.

I try not to use mine unless I get in close, then I take a look at very low speed.

It is a MUCH clearer picture on the 09+, expecially when using it at night, and the overlay of the active yellow line makes it much more precise when backing.

I can also confirm that the picture quality and yellow lines has NOTHING to do with the 09-10 camera itself. I have a back up cam from a 2010 TL in my 06 and there are no yellow lines. I had hoped there would be but it is in the system.
