'06 HFL Works Great! Have a question though...
After almost a year of owning our '06 TL, we are finally able to take advantage of the HFL. We had to wait for my wife's two year Verizon contract to expire so we could upgrade her phone to a bluetooth model without paying full retail. Anyway, last night I paired her new LG VX8600 to the car, and so far it works flawlessly. Pairing the phone was quite easy, although I did need to carefully read both the phone instructions and the car's HFL instructions to do it. It's not something you can do by guessing. But once you read the instructions, it's really not that hard at all.
Everything seems to work fully... we get battery and signal display on the MID, and we can transfer calls to and from the phone without problems. Haven't used it extensively yet, so I can't say how consistently it will work, but it did work every time I tried it.
One question though... Is there any way to bypass the HFL Address Book (which is cumbersome to fill out and use) and access the phone's voice recognition system through the HFL mic? This phone has very good voice recognition, perhaps better than the car's, and when I use a bluetooth headset with the phone, I can just hit a button on the headset to access the phone's address book through voice command. But I don't know of a way to do that in the car without the car's address book getting in the way.

"No" is my understanding as well.
That's why the ability to download cell phone address books into the HFL system is an issue. The '07s can download address books, but only from some cell phones; prior years do not have that ability.

The best thing to do is to store your four or five most commonly called people. Don't try to put everybody in there. I only have my home, my wife work and cell, and my two kids. For anything else you can always just use the phone to dial (or use the phone's voice recognition) and once the phone connects push the hfl button and say "transfer" and the call will go through the car.

That's pretty much what I figured. But I had to ask. Oh well, it's great to have this feature even if it isn't perfect. I was further impressed today when my wife called me from the car, and her voice was as clear and loud as if she was speaking right into the phone. I couldn't tell at all that she was using the car mic. Another thumbs up to Acura.

A short workaround for this would be to dial a number thru your phone's voice recognition, then while the call is ringing, use the HFL and say "Transfer". It then will transfer the call to the car's speakers and mike. It's what I do since my car's voice recognition is TERRIBLE.
