04 TL Navigation
I bought the TL without a navigation system. If I wanted to install the factory navigation system and I know I'd have to replace the dash..........what else would I have to replace?

There are several recent threads on the subject.
Right now, the easiest route is to go to Martin (acurahondatech@comcast.net).
If you want to go cheaper and do a lot of work yourself, do a search and you'll find several people who have done it. But getting the parts is a hit and miss venture. Usually involving fleabay.

The dash on the TL without Navigation only displays the time. However, I've the TL with the Navigation and the clock display also includes the graphics for the heat or A/C. Which I would assume that you would need a dash that's able to accomate the graphics and time.

There's planty of used '04's and 5's out there that recently came off lease.

I know that I'm just pulling this out of my ass, so it very well may be incorrect...
But wouldn't you just need the display? When I think "dash" I think you're talking about the entire dashboard?

You've got the navi controller, navi display, new steering wheel switch, all the wiring/connectors, not to mention the labor....
The dash itself doesn't need to be replaced.

How hard is it to find one of the dozen threads that COMPLETELY details the time and effort it take to put the Nav system in?
If he doesn't have the skill or patience to even find the thread, he's SOL for doing the install. I find it hilarious that these guys think the hard part is going to be BUYING everything... LOL

But, I can see how a project like this can suck you in. I am finding myself breadboarding, ebay/google searching and ordering parts to do parts of this conversion.
It's very addictive to someone who loves researching, building, soldering and experimenting.

I have much respect for your knowledge and skill. You avoided being too snarky, although you did quote my post as if it was false or misleading. I have to ask you though... did you, at any point in the process of learning about factory-installed Nav, come in here and post the following sentence?...
"If I wanted to install the factory navigation system and I know I'd have to replace the dash..........what else would I have to replace?"
I don't think you did. Can't you see the difference? Let's be honest here, which is a rare commodity in internet forums. Even a cursory glance at the information available (which is plentiful) would say nothing about 'replacing the dash'.
Additionally, I am not echoing DMZ's statement in any way. I doubt this guy wants to go through the process of selling the car, or buying another one.
Do you think that the OP knows what it means to 'breadboard'? I'm curious. I will spot him that it doesn't have anything to do with replacing the dash. Or bread. :-)

I also was kidding with DMZ, he doesn't think that the effort is worth it.
I was just explaining that I first felt that way, but then started looking at a carputer. Over time, doing lots of post following here and studying the service manual, I learned a lot about the system itself, wiring included. Then I started going off the deep end with breadboarding and such.
I NEVER said anything about the OP doing any of that.
I won't be quoting your posts in the future....sheesh.

Well, to bring this thread back on topic a little - kevnari, here's a link to a recent thread on this issue: https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/question-lucky-tv-owners-174438/

Yeah, sorry about that.
The link in the post above is what I referred to earlier as Martin's kit.
