Spend $60 more and go for this, you'll have full ipod control from your factory radio and aux and everything else you need. Thank me later...

The ipod control system in the link works with your iphone 5, i have it and i currently connect my iphone 5 to it everytime i get in the car and it sounds good you can tell its not just a cheap aux cable like the one you posted (no offense). So if u dont want to play your iphone in your car i understand, but you definitely cant use the excuse that your phone wont work because it does.

Hey, a couple of questions about this.

Which 30pin to lightning converter do you use for it? Does it have to be the official Apple one or it doesn't matter?

Do steering wheel controls work only when youre playing music loaded onto your iphone or do they also work for apps like Spotify?

The steering wheel controls work for everything, long as its playing on your head unit then the steering wheel controls work. As far as the connector i use the lightning adapter straight from apple because i know its of good quality. Im sure others will work but quality might not be as good.

I see. Have you used it with spotify yourself? I wanna know for sure if it works haha. I wanna get spotify premium and forget about CDs all together.. Wheel controls really aren't the deal breaker here, but it would be good to know.

Both of the most popular ipod kits for our cars (USA SPEC & iSimple and im sure many others) still retain use of the steering wheel controls. To be honest i hear so much about spotify but ive never used it might have to give it a try. I dont see why it wouldnt work i mean if all the other music apps work that one will be no different so its a pretty safe bet that it'll work lol. Plus you can use bluetooth or aux etc theres many different possiblities to hear virtually anything from your phone/ipod.
