[Poll] Which V600 Firmware are you using?
My V600 came with TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.3AR. This had the "can't answer on steering wheel with clamshell closed problem." Yesterday I upgraded to TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4AR and find that the above problem is fixed (or much, much better).
Any idea how to tell which version is newest?? I mean, I assume that 9.4AR is newer than 9.3AR but is 9.4AR newer than 9.45R?
thanks!

This would be fine, but I'm not willing to be the first one to make the plunge since I know 9.45 works with the HFL, but I don't know about 9.55.
I always thought that 9.4AR was newer than 9.45R.
I have tried 9.45R on my phone and I think that the Bluetooth is a bit laggy on picking up incoming calls.
That's why I went back to the 9.4AR.

I guess I thought bigger number was newer version. At least that's the way teh software I write works
Perhaps someone who knows a little more can say which version is better/newer.
Sorry for the confusion.

Just wanted to let you know: The guys over at v600.org theorize that 9.4AR is newer than 9.45R since 4A is greater than 45 in hexadecimal. They also refer to Bluetooth problems in the 9.45R build that are fixed in the 9.4AR build as further support.
So, with that in mind, 9.55R should be the newest. But remember, that one has the new bootloader that prevents you from downgrading.
BTW, whoever voted that they have TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.55R, could you comment on any changes that you see in reference to the 9.4x versions? Specifically in reference to the Acura HFL?

Has anyone else noticed that if another call comes in while using the HFL, the current call drops back to the phone?
This is rather annoying and I'd love to figure out if this bug is only in my firmware version (9.4AR).
thanks.

I don't get that. I push teh answer button and I think the other person goes on hold. Then when I push it again, it switches back. I'm using 9.45 though. I did another search on 9.4A and some comments on teh forums suggest it might be a beta or test code of some type and may be buggy.
I don't know if that is true or not, but it could be.

If I can find 9.45R I'll try it and let you know if my call-waiting problem goes away.
It certainly would be nice to maintain a list of problems/fixes with each V600 firmware version w.r.t. Acura HFL. I think the V600 gets a bad wrap because carriers like TMobile ship their phones with buggy firmware.

I upgraded from 9.4AR to 9.4FR this weekend. I don't notice much difference, but newer must be better right?
Actually, it sounds like 9.4AR was a beta and 9.4FR is an actual release.
Also, I upgraded my flex to the V620. More eye candy and menus are a wee bit faster. This also got rid of all the Tmobile branded crap, which is nice.
Anyway, 9.4FR and the V620 flex seem to like the HFL just fine. No problems.

Just flashed my phone from 9.2FR to 9.4AR. Menus are definitely faster. Wonder why I waited so long to do this. I now have the bug to change the flex but can't find any flex files (especially the v620 mentioned above). Any help locating 9.4FR would also be appreciated thanks.
Here is a guide on flashing and flexing your V600 (or any Motorola Vxxx phone for that matter):
http://www.mob453.com/phones/motorola_v600/
What is the difference between flashing and flexing? Think of flashing as burning a new revision of the operating system and drivers of the phone. Flexing is updating to a new or different GUI. Everything that you interact with on the screen (e.g. menus) is the flex. Everything low-level, behind the scenes is the flash.
That being said, most people don't need to update their flex. Flashing usually improves signal strength and fixes annoying bugs like "you must leave the clamshell open to answer a call on the Acura HFL".
One note! The flash and flex posted on the above mentioned link is rather old and should not be used. However, the utilities and the general guide for flashing/flexing is still valid.
From my experience, these flashes work pretty much bug free with the HFL:
TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R
TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4AR
TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4FR
This flash, although newer, should be avoided:
TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.55R

9.4AR can be found here:
http://v600.cjb.net/
A much more complete list can be found on IRC at irc.outsiderz.com, channel #phonephreakz. Hit "!BigDaddy5" after you join the channel.
I would recommend flashing to a newer version but don't flex if you aren't up for a LOT of tweaking.

Tried IRC (to download 9.4FR) but couldn't figure out how to use fserv (people were not that helpful). BTW, just received a replacement v600 from Motorola and it had TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4DR. I've found very little if anything about this flash other than a one month old thread at HOFO saying that it was newer than 9.4FR. You would think there would be more info. Any thoughts?
