Zaino

I would like to know how does the zaino products work. Is the full kit worth the money. And How do I apply. It is step by step systematically (1.ZFX, 2. Z2, 3. Z5, 4. Z6 5. Z7..ETC)

Thanks
Soul

RTFM.

Okay, here's the procedure for day1.

1. Wash with Dawn.
2. Claybar
3. Wash with Zaino Z7.
4. Polish with Z2.
5. Gloss with Z6.
6. Polish with Z2.
7. Gloss with Z6.
8. Polish with Z2.
9. Gloss with Z6.
Then wash weekly with Z7.

For an older car, you would use Z5 instead of Z2 for the first couple of polishes, to help remove the swirl marks.

More than 3 coats is overkill. You can do it, and some Zaino cult members swear that 100 coats looks better than 99, but anything beyond 3-5 is only a waste of money.

You can put as many coats as you want. However, you'll notice that it does not go deeper after 3 coats. 3 will be enough.

Have to disagree with you there, I`ve seen a big difference in shine and reflection with more coats. ZAINO is optically perfect and does not fade or yellow with more coats

Zaino sounds great, but it also sounds like it's a real pain to use. How hard is to apply and buff out? Does go on ease and buff off easy? On average, how long does it take to do a mininum number of coats. I say this, because it sounds like you have to use at least two different polish to complete the job. TIA.

It is very easy to use. You can put;

- Z2 or Z5 in 20-30 mins and wait for 30 mins and buff it off another 20-30 mins.
- spray Z6 and buffing takes another 20-30 mins.

You do not need to apply it often like other waxes. 3 coats will go for 6 months. Just wash with Z7+water everytime you wash your car.

1. Zaino is REALLY easy to put on and off - less work than ANY wax product. It is wipe on, wipe off. There is no buffing or hard work. It takes me less than 20 minutes to do the entire car, and maybe 5 minutes to wipe it off.

2. The ZFX 3-coat limit is to allow the polymer to properly harden. It is not an appearance issue. Because of the way the polymer layers build up on each other - the more layers, the smoother and shinier the finish. Yes, there is diminishing returns, but it is after around 5-6 coats.

Just had my car Zaino'd this afternoon. A guy from a local mobile detail shop came out and worked his magic. I am AMAZED by how good this stuff works and looks! He took pictures and will be sending me some...so, i'll post then.

Oh, his name is Brian with Zaino Mobile Detail right here in the DFW metroplex. Worth every penny!

The thing that was not mentioned is that before you use either Z2 or Z5 you need to either put Z-1 on the car or mix some ZFX into the Z2 or Z5.

I have used on both my cars and am amazed at the results.

What ever you do, don't skip the clay bar process. It really cleans the impurities out of the paint.

Zaino may be more work than just slapping a coat of meguiars glod class on but in the end the results are directly related to the effort.

NO - Zaino is NOT more work! How can you say that?

If you are really short on time or energy, you can simply wash the car with Dawn, and "slap on" a single coat of Z-2 with the ZFX added. It will take 1/3 the time and effort of waxing, and STILL look and protect better.

When you have time, THEN you can go for the "Show Car Look".

It just NOT WORTH CONSIDERING WAX any longer.

You'll get no argument from me. I love the finish Zaino gives. But to do it right, on the initial application you should follow all the steps outlined in Zaino's FAQ. Wash, then claybar, then wash again, then Z-1 then Z-2 or ZFX mixed in with Z2. If you don't, you will be sealing all the surface contaminants into your paint.

The main complaint I hear from newbies and Zaino haters is that it takes too long with too many steps. I say it takes longer because most of the people don't want to take the time to do it right. All they want to do is slap a coat of wax on and be done with it. Then complain when the wax dissipates after a few washings. Honestly before I found Zaino I already did the claybar process then followed up with a coat of Meguiars Gold Class. So really for me it was more steps than I would normally do for any wax.

My God, that's like a mirror. I'm sure the picture doesn't do its justice. It looks almost too shiny. Does it look better in person? I'm not talking about its shine, but more of a wow factor. Do you know what I mean?

I bet it looks better in person. I know my cars do. if you do the clay and zanio, it's so slick you will never be able to set anything on your car. It will slide right off

I did a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and told the salesman NO WAX and NO HANDWASH. I have seen too many TL's with swirl marks....Sux...

It is a mirror shine. I watched Brian apply the Zaino and the results were visible almost instantly! I've never used Zaino before, but that has changed now....

dtchung: I totally understand. And yes, it is great looking. Zaino benefits are most noticable on black paint...I think Anthracite is a close second.

You should see rkilian's black TL... that thing doesn't even look like it's made out of metal after he zaino'd it. It looks more like obsidian or that liquid metal stuff in Terminator.
