Is your steering wheel shiny and a little slippery?

I just testdrove an 04 TL and noticed that the steering wheel was shiny in appearance and smooth and a little slippery in feel. This is all compared to my 04 Accord LX. My Accord has little perforated holes, maybe that's why? It's also not leather. I believe the TL's steering wheel is leather.

Maybe the owner of the TL I saw had greasy hands? lol

My TL feels nice! I can't complain. Maybe the guy does have oily fingers, or was eating a steak and cheese last time out! LOL!

this could be possible. i've never used any type of polish or liquid on my Accord's steering wheel except water.

Try cleaning it with a good leather cleaner/conditioner. That should get any build up of hand oils, grime and other products off of it. You will be surprised how dirty the rag you use to clean it will get.

Lexol cleaner and then Lexol conditioner or Zaino's leather products are all good.

Once clean it shouldn't be slippery or too shiny.

The steering wheels on my '04 and '04 TLs most definitely have a distinctly different feel. My '04 is more smooth and slightly shiny while my '05's wheel is a little more textured and has more of a matte finish.

I...HATE how shiny, slippery mine is now. I like that dry, brand new leather look but throughout the years it's just getting worse. I want to find a way to DEshine all the leather in the car and have it look like new.

the steering wheel changed from 04 to 05. The airbag emblem was changed and the texture of the leather wrapped around the steering wheel changed. My 04 steering wheel is glossy and has a few fade marks on it. Time is gonna come to upgrade to the a-spec wheel....

If your steering wheel is shiny, then it means that it is very dirty. I clean my steering wheel with a hot wet towel and wipe it down with pressure then it looks new again. Then i put some leather conditioner on it

On my Infiniti I always cleaned the steering wheel and the seats and armrest with Amorall Leather Cleaner. Works GREAT, always left it smooth and clean; especially when the steering wheel became greasy for some reason. I'll be cleaning the TL tomorrow with it.

Hmmmm...yes, clean you say. Yes yes.

Thought about a "modified" steering wheel.
