Is your gas mileage improving?

Is your gas mileage improving as the amount of miles you have increases?

Yes.

If I try to compare with the break-in period and the period btwn 1k and 10k, yes, my MPG is getting better and better in each stage.

My city MPG is increasing 1-2 MPG, the highway MPG is quite similar though.

I was trying to go with a poll for this question but I'm a dumbass and don't know how to do it.

If someone can get a poll started for this, I would appreciate it.

My TL is getting about 22 mpg with 70/30 Highway/City.
I'm hoping to see it go up.

How many miles do you guys get out of a full tank?

HuKaShI,

I'm driving in Manhattan, Queens, Nassau, a lot, maybe 20/50 (highway/city). My avg MPG is only 15-19 now... but it's worse in the past. I always fill up my tank around the quarter mark, it's about 220-250 miles...

I have only about 450 miles on the car.

I'm probably not gonna see it drastically get better for a long while huh?

I hear you start to see real improvement when you hit around 4500 miles.

Is this true?

4500 miles... not exactly true... it may depend on cars, environment, and driving habits.

The first tank is probably the worst one. Then, it is supposed to be running so-so MPG in your break-in period. If everything ok, your 04TL should get better and better very soon.

When driving in Highway after my break-in (1k), I had 26 MPG. Then, around 4k, I could even get 30 MPG in the highway...

That is what I used to get when I lived in NYC last year with my 02 TLS. I got an 04TL yesterday and hoping the mileage is better. On average I got 16mpg.
