You can never be too careful parking apparently.

i've had the ass swipe my rear qtr and not leave a note. aint' pretty and aint' cheap to get fixed $1k. i was pissed esp when i left plenty of room for the ass hat to pull into his space since i parked heavy on the driver's side next to a 350Z. still clipped my car.
OP i do the exact same thing so you're not alone.
we stopped taking my car to run errands. and i park WAY the HELL far away from people and carts. of course you get the smart ass with the POS that parks next to you out of the 50 other spaces available.![Annoyed](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/annoyed.gif)
i just had my car PDR'd in four places (something about a tree branch vs. TL). they did an amazing job. managed to pull the dings in the front fender out (driver's side) and this one cost the most to get the dings out.
i'm thrilled but at the same time super anal now since i now have ZERO dings in my 7 yr old car and 95% fine scratch free paint. i love my car!

Maybe I've not run across it in the documentation yet, but looks like it has a couple flaws.... One, if you park for more than 4 hours, in an area with alot of activity, and if your car is hit early, that event will get recorded over. It should automatically save and not overwrite events. Two, if you see something while you are driving (lint an accident) you should be able to hit a button and protect the last 20 seconds + the next 5 minutes from overwriting. The OBS device does both.

Back again. Wow there are some pretty scary photos and I feel pretty lucky- all things considered.
Mike from www.dingdoctor.net came to my office today mostly to give me an evaluation. I'm happy to say he actually started work on this and the results are already respectable. Pohljm- it was fun meeting you and your son many years ago at Torrey Pines- yes a meet is definitely in my future plans.
Mike polished the scrape and used his hot glue/slammer and rubber tapper to do a pretty respectable job even now. He hopes to come back later next week to finish things up. He fixed an earlier issue so there is an access hole that he can use to pop the dent out- the fender is double-sided in that area so going from the inside may do the trick. He spent maybe 40 minutes on this so far and was interrupted by my coworkers wanting to show their dings to him for estimates.
Here's how things look now:

Good luck on the other people getting tagged by careless people. Makes me want to do a walk around when I return to my car these days so you at least know where it happened. My top pick was a little Mexican Place that has those angled spots on Monday.
I'll post final photos when the job is complete.

Looks good La Costa! I have a hit and run dent in rear door that i think is creased around the inner support. not sure if PDR can handle it, but we keep cars for life and I have never had a aftermarket paint job last more than 5 years or so. So I am happier at this point with the dent than crap paint on the entire side of the car eventually. does your guy come down south?

^ I think he drives throughout the county. He seems to bunch his jobs so he's not traveling all around the county in a single day. Here's what I suggest doing:
1. Take a photo of the issue
2. email the photo along with your contact information to photos@dingdoctor.net. I did this last night and he called me before 9am today and was at the office at 1:30 today.
Mike can assess the photo and tell you your options. He'll have a much better idea of things when he sees it in person. For today, he was just going to work his magic for a little bit and refused payment until he's done. I highly recommend him- he's an experienced professional.
Good luck!

IMO, inflicting door dings and keying cars should warrant a prison sentence (OK maybe a tad harsh
). The sheer level of carelessness and lack of respect for others' property baffles me.

I just wish there was a way to catch the people who do it. Short of having a helicopter hovering above, there isn't much you can do.
