YIPEE – HandsFreeLink System Fixed
I AM SO STOKED! This thing is so cool!
Car was delivered on 12/10 with HandsFreeLink inoperative.
Two days at the dealer the first week I owned the car with absolutely no progress (1st day they said GPS voice working properly, 2nd day 6 of 8 technicians were out with the flu). I told them the car would not be back.
I took my car to Stevens Creek Acura this morning. Ronnie said it might take a couple of days because they had never seen this problem before, but two hours later I was called and told that they had solved the problem.
Standard fix that they have used to solve all (3 now) HandsFreeLink problems is to replace the control unit.
Did I say that this feature is really neat!!

Yeah, doesn't it suck when things don't work right.
I love the bluetooth phone thingy. And only last night on the news was an article on banning hand-held cellphones in cars. (Bring it on!)

Man.. I don't own a Bluetooth phone so I wouldn't even know if my HandsFreeUnit wasn't working. Is there a way to "test" it with a friend's handset and then reset it after we're done testing it?

Lore,
Find anyone with a phone that has Bluetooth and “pair up” their Bluetooth phone with your car. Test the system out and then remove the “pairing”.
I have to caution you that if you do this you will most probably end up purchasing a Bluetooth capable phone, even if you have to set up a new cell phone service. This thing is just too cool.

Care to meet up with me? Most of my friends do not have Bluetooth phones, and the one person I know who does has a TL and never is around for me to ask!

Jim,
Glad you got it fixed. I'd also be interested in sometime checking to see if my BT works if there's a way we could meet.
(Jim works next door to me. It is weird having three 04 TL's in same parking lot especially since his and mine are both Anthracite. The third one is my boss's Silver.)

Damn! MIssed the deal on BT
Amazon had $-196 rebate on T610 and $-110 on T610 and jabra headset. Saw it yesterday and thought I can get this, transfer my number to T-Mobile, and get $196 to pay towards termination fee of $175 to Verizon. Went there today and the phones are Sold Out.
Will have to use my wife's T68i till I get mine the way I'm using for last 3 weeks.

Any of you in the Bay Area (preferably East Bay, like daikon38, joganjani, DNA, etc) that want to meet up and share stories, let me know I would really love to play with the BT phone, even for just 10 minutes, just to make sure my system works okay should I ever move to BT.
