Yes...another decklid spoiler question

Ok, I know these things have been talked about ad naseum, but I searched for this specific aspect and I can't find any information.

I'm getting ready to stick it onto my trunk, but I've always read that you clean the area first with alcahol, then you line it up and stick it on. Now doesn't the alcahol strip the wax? Is that what we want? Or should we have the area waxed, but clean?

Any help would be much appreciated!

BTW, I bought the spoiler off of eBay from TheSpoilerCompany. I havn't seen any reviews about him here, but I bought it for $110 shipped. I went with these people because feedback was good, and they were the only ones that carried Polished Metal MEtallic paint for my '08, and weren't going to charge me another $40 to paint it a color they don't have in stock. Paint match is great, quality looks flawless, I'll snap some pics soon.

what you have to do is strip the wax in that area so it stick to PAINT only. If it sticks to the wax, the wax will wear off and the tape won't stick to anything. Make sure that it is being stuck only to paint, and not dust, wax or any oils.
