Yep, I think I have the worst luck ever. PART 2!!!
As you may remember, my wife was driving my two week old TL and a dog ran out in front of her. Front bumper was replaced, looks pretty damn good.
Well, got version two of my luck here. I was just checking out the tint earlier today (just had it done) and inspecting it to see if it's sealed. Then, I noticed something was really wrong...
Now, I purchased the car at the end of October. I recall feeling this spot, it was a little rough, yet it was completely painted and not like this. Well, now it seems the paint is basically faded and if you look at it closely, it's like it was blistered or something. There's no other section on the car with this. From my guess, I think it may of been painted wrong at manufacturing or something extremely hot got in this area.
Yea, these were just taken with my iPhone so they aren't the best quality. Anyway, I went to the local Acura dealership and puzzled the Service Managers over there. They have opened up a case and are in the process of contacting the zone rep to see what they can do. One of the guys said, in the nine years he's been working there, he's had two other paint incidents with Acuras, but never in this spot. I guess the zone rep is on vacation for the next two to three weeks, so we'll see what happens.
I also called up Acura Customer Relations and opened up a case to see if there's any paint issues with an 08 TL. Obviously, there wasn't, but they also said we have to wait on the zone rep to see what happens.
Sigh....I'm just really upset. Spent $30k on this car, I love it to death, yet I'm having these issues.

I think he's referring to the faded paint where the rear glass meets the roof. Am I correct? If it is, dosnt water get channeled through there, and I guess with enough sun and acid rain, I guess it could eat away the paint there, I have a roof spoiler so I can't tell.

though farfetched, it could be some detailing wax stuck there. When I got my MDX, the dealer detailed it and it had white paste in all the seams. I got home, took out a few Q-Tips and some MF towels and fixed it.

If it was acid rain, I would assume there would be other sections on the car that shows it. Here in North Florida...I don't think I've heard of acid rain here.
I'm going to try to take better pictures with a REAL camera this weekend to show everyone. I know it's kind of hard to tell what you are looking at.
And on the tinting thing, the place here that I got it at has been here for 15 years. There isn't anywhere else around the windows where it has been damaged, and this is the same place I remember where it was rough.

Well, just talked to the service manager at my local Acura. Good news.
He told me the zone rep approved fixing it all and giving me a loaner car. We agreed that we should probably wait until after the holidays to get it started since it'll probably take at least 3 to 4 days.
The ironic thing is, they will be taking it to the same body shop that replaced the front bumper when my wife hit the dog. Haha....the irony. At least they did a pretty damn good job.
