Just joined this forum. As my name indicates, I am an ex Honda S2000 owner which, after 15 wonderful months of ownership, was totalled in my garage fire which took out 4 other vehicles including an Austin Healey and a MG midget. A year ago, the TL was my first choice in a practical car but the lure of the S2K won out. In the aftermath of the fire, the TL seemed like a much better choice and I have not been disappointed. Yes, we looked at all the comparable choices, G35, BMW, etc. but always came back to the TL for all the reasons you have; power, handling, ride, sportiness and price. For the Colorado winters, we preferred FWD in lieu of the sportier RWD. After reading about the crap EL-42 tires, I want to swap for a better set. I have looked at the Wheels and Tires thread and have a few ideas but would like to see if anyone knows of a Denver area tire shop that would do this.

'06 TL, Alabaster Silver Metallic/Quartz
'59 Austin Healey 100-6 (needing new paint job from fire)
'61 MG Midget (needing fire repairs)
'63 Porsche 356 Coupe Race Car, got lucky, sold before fire.
'05 Ford Escape, bought used after fire totalled Montero Sport

Dang, I'm sorry about the fire.

Welcome to Acurazine. Just a couple of comments:

a) Winter driving. The winters here in Cleveland tend to be snowy . I drove my 2004 TL through two BAD and one light winters. The first was on the then brand-new stock Turanzas. They did OK. The next two were on aftermarket UHPAS tires, and they actually did better. FWD does help.

b)"Sportiness" is not the TL's forte in its stock form. You must add the A-Spec suspension and Competech rear sway bar as these transform the car into an excellent handler with good ride quality. I say the same thing in many threads, but many members here, including myself, have drunk the A-Spec Kool-Aid and I must say that Acura did a very good job designing the A-Spec.

HTH and again, welcome!

PS: Jealous of your car collection.
