So yesterday (Sunday) I was borrowing my dad's 09 XF Supercharged because my car was in the shop. Me and my bro were coming back from a friends house and we see this new Eclipse GT. My bro was urging me on to race him, so I did. I pull up next to him and then take off. Starting from about 55, I go up to 130 and then slow down back to 70. Then about 3 sec. later the Eclipse just zooms right past me. Game on! I accelerate up to 150 and kick his ass. I had to exit which let him go pass me again but I saw his face and he knew I kick his ass.

 

Nice car but that speed is too fast for public roadways. Keep it on the track.

agree with this guy ^ ... I don't know how old you are, but if you're between 25 - 30 I would not let you take the XF if I am your old man

If you did really take the XF out and race with that Eclipse, why would you have to take that beauty to that speed? and waste your gas? (lol just saying but if your dad can afford that car, he can afford to fill up the gas hehehe)

 

Be safe. You need to ask pops if you can take it to the track to see how it fares.

150mph is just a tad too fast on public roads. Your margin for error is effectively zero at those speeds. We all know the blown XF should make quick work of the Eclipse V6 so, it wasn't worth the effort anyway.

 

Agreed. Beating any Eclipse after the 2nd gen isn't really anything to be proud of. 3rd and 4th gen Eclipses are "daddy bought me my first car" teenage girl vehicles.

 

I wouldnt even waste my gas. And why would you even go to 150mph when the Eclipse cant even get that high? The eclipse was prolly just tryin to get the hell away from some crazy kid in an XF...stupid

Wow...you shouldn't be driving. So first off, you instigated the race by going from 55-130mph and then you slowed down waiting for a reaction which you got and then took the car up to 150mph on public roads with your Dad's car...
