Question Xenon and HID?

When I read specs on cars, some state "HID" while others state "Xenon". I was wondering, is there any difference? Or is the same thing?

Same thing.
Xenon is the gas used inside the bulbs of HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights.

There are different types of HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting systems including High-Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide and Mercury Vapor. Xenon HID is the most common type in automobiles.
