Xenon Headlight Theft Problem
It has been reported that theft of xenon headlights has been a big problem, especially in the larger metropolitan cities. Especially Nissan has suffered, to the point that they have had to reengineer the light/bulb system and had to add some anti theft features. Has anybody heard anything about Acura having a problem in this area? Has Honda been contacted about the vulnerability of its headlight set up? It would really be nice to hear that the TL is not on the hit list. Please provide us with all the info you can. Thank you for your help. Regards.

Uh... Third generation has ballast separated from igniter and headlamp projector beam assembly. It's VERY difficult to steal the lights as the parts are so separated from each other and the hood is cut inward of the lights (so you can't "peel it back" and steal the lights).
The 2nd generation (as evidenced by the mid-life freshened headlight shape update) was more of a concern (as was the last-gen Maxima and Altima [insurers even stopped insuring headlights on the Altima with HID lamps in NYC/NJ]).
