You know you guys were right saying I shouldn't have blown up like that. I already called my dad to apologize....I basically felt like shit the whole day before calling him.

Here are some pics. It's kinda hard to see since everything is black.

Good for you for calling him. It's never worth it to act in haste.

IDK, damage doesn't look awful. You'll be up and going again in no time! Nice ride, too!

Good job
If you think about it, its actually partially your fault too for not remembering you parked behind. You were riding shotgun. But hey it looks like new CF hood?

Sorry to hear about your car bro, it sucks, and it just happened to me too.

So, something similar to that incident occurred to my 08 TL-S this past weekend. Some lady clipped my front end, tearing off the front bumper, denting the hood, severely denting the crash beam, tearing a hole in my AEM CAI, and setting off the driver's "side" airbags. However, the accident was my fault due to the fact that my front bumper was "obstructing" the path of her luxurious Lincoln Navigator.

I don't want to sidetrack everyone from the OP's thread, so my question is: is it possible to get all that I can out of my $1000 deductible and kinda sorta somehow end up with the A-Spec front lip/bumper? Or is that out of the question? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks..

It's not that bad, no point in blowing up on your dad. My father borrowed my car a few weeks ago when he had his car in for body repairs and parked 9 inches of my rim into the curb. The first thing he did was call me and told me my rim is completely messed up. All I said was, as long as you can put the spare on, the car will be fine. It's no reason to get over excited about little things like this. My car still sits with a curbed front right rim, but it didn't bother me a second that he did it.

Parents are great man, you should learn to value what they have given you. This could be some nice father-son time together. Get to fixing it yourselves.

I used to get pissed at my parents all the time, then I moved out and everything changed. I always thought they were in my business and always trying to get involved in my life, but now I realize they just care. I'm surprised your dad didn't bitch you out for overreacting.

As far as going through insurance, don't look at it as going the cheap route. He probably doesn't know if it costs 1,000 or 2,000 to fix. OE, those parts are over 1,000 easily. Bumper is what? 300? Hood 5-600? These are my guestimates. It's obviously not wise to go through insurance, but think about what is going through his mind? Whether he's paying for your car or not, he wants the job done right, what ever it may be worth. Don't think he's trying to get out the cheap way, your father loves you.

Good luck with the repairs. Breakfast Sunday morning at IHOP wouldn't hurt as an apology

Just to add, regarding all the negative comments, just think about how you expressed your emotions when your father hit your car. Everybody sees your age under your avatar, and most people here can read. What do you think they imagine when they see a 17 year old posting about bitching out his father? BRAT DING DING DING. Nothing personal, just food for thought.

Yea dude I know. It's funny b/c if people really knew what I had to do to get this car and what I do to keep it, they wouldn't be talking so much smack. But eh, it's the internet what can you do...

You're 17 and your parents most likely bought it , and you're spoiled as shit to " Scream " at you're dad , even if he didn't have anything to do with the purchase .

Word up, if you were my kid I would have slapped you silly. If I dreamed of yelling at my dad after he hit my car on accident, I'd be on the ground. First of all he and your mom pay for 67% of it. Second of all it's most likely under his name. My dad says if its under his roof, or on his property it's his. SMH.

I am not going to overly get into this with you....BUT YOU MY FRIEND>>>HAVE BOATLOADS OF GROWING UP TO DO AND MUCH CHARACTER TO GAIN STILL. You dont go yelling at your dad....especially for something like a car that he is paying for too? I mean...get a grip! Had I been your father...I would have been pissed also - doubly - at the accident and at my total shame in my raising of YOU as my son...but soon as you show me THAT kind of disrespect as you did to him...I would have driven the fuck right over your car and got out and asked you if you had learned anything yet?

Not getting into an arguement with you today son...but you truely owe your dad a huge appology and thanks for not continuing the running over of your car after you acted like an asshat in response.

You say...."its my car...you guys understand!" ect ect. YOU SAID IT RIGHT THERE>>>>ITS A CAR. Its ONLY a car and thats all it is. Its ISNT you nor a reflection of you or what you hope to be or you mackin' front or anything else like that. Its a friggin car....that we try to make as nice as possible for our own needs and for fun. Dont put so much into it....it will only make you yet another one of the shallow kids in the car scene. Value it...sure....but dont over value it for things it truely is not. Most of you younger folks will learn this with age honestly.

Do I live this. Yes. Ever wrecked your car and got out and said....ah shit....o'well...shit happens and it not even really overly get to you? I have. For the first time this year. At some point...you understand...its insured and you also understand...that about 95% of what happens to you is due to your own actions and you take responsibility for them.

Again dude...no disrespect intended to you...but you DO need to make ammends with you dad and tell him that he raised you better than you displayed on that particular day AND THEN LEARN FROM IT! It will only make you a much wiser person in the end!! Make good out of that bad man! Its not too late. And you make sure to tell him that he raised you better than than and that you know better! For real...you dont know what that will mean to him.

Ya, I think you should get your dad a card also. I don't know your dad but he probably felt very embarrased. Sure you apologized but a card says "i went to the store and bought this for you and I didn't get a thing out of it." You will wish you got him a card later if you don't now.

I guess he's the first person to get mad at their parents and yell at them? I think what a lot of you guys are overlooking is the fact he's a kid. We all have said or done some things to our parents that we look back on now as disrespectful. He reacted to a situation and now he's getting crucified for it, I mean its not like he pulled out a gun and shot his Pop. My Mom and Dad are everything to me, but that doesn't mean we haven't had our differences. If his Dad accepted his apology then, I think its time for the Saints in this room to move on.

I did think and I didn't think that anyone would get all uptight about this. Does it offend you? What if the world ended tomorrow, what if you wrecked your car, what if your dog died? Who gives a shit? Are you going to hate on what if statements now? Its a message board and I made a statement. It didn't hurt anyone. Grow up a little coz. If anything my whole point was to get on the bandwagon and make the OP feel bad at yelling at his dad over dumb shit.

Wow.

I love how I've been demonized for getting angry at my father for 20 minutes, then apologizing, after he hit my car...a car that I pay just as much for as he does. As if none of you have ever gotten mad at your parents for anything.

I also love how 50 people came on here and said the exact same thing in the exact same condescending manner thinking I'm some little piece of shit kid. None of you know me, know what I do, know anything about my life, so before calling me a "spoiled little brat" think for a second before casting me as some whinyass rich kid.
