Unhappy Wow. BAD DAY

My own father just backed his Honda Pilot into my car going 10 mph...and I was sitting shotgun.

I'm gonna need a new hood, grill, front bumper.

Pics tomorrow when it's light outside.

Sry to hear that man. At least now you can get a cf hood and a aspec from lip if you want. Always look on the bright side.

I basically went insane and starting screaming my head off at him when it happened, so we aren't really on speaking terms right now....but I've calmed down and I'm thinking rationally.

My dad is going through his own insurance.

I told him that he could just buy the bumper, hood and grill and I'll install them myself, but he's too cheap to pay the $900 out of pocket so insurance it is....

Let's say I get the a-spec front lip, will there be any difference to what his insurance might charge him in the end? I'm not trying to rip off my own father.

How he do that? Go easy on dad, I'm sure it was a mistake. Maybe you can use this for a couple of nice Christmas gifts from him as payback a few years from now in addition to the a-spec kit.

Man, I probably wouldn't even get upset, my father pays for my car anyway

But seriously, im sure your father is going to take care of everything so there was really no reason to get so upset. And as others have said, there's always a bright side.

Sorry to hear that. Didn't think 10MPH would do that much damage!

Do you have to get new headlights too?

Anyway, hope you guys clear the air... life is too short to hold something like this against your dad.

As for the other guy shitting on you, there's no need to try to belittle the OP. Handle your issues thru PM. It just makes you look bad by airing all this shit out...

^roll into a wall at 10mph, you would be suprised at the damages.

To the OP did you buy the car? I know you are 17, but did you pay for the car yourself?

Reason I am asking is because I wouldn't understand why you get infuriated and start yelling at your dad. Accidents happen dude and I am sorry about the unfortunate event.

P.S: your dad drives a pilot? lol parents never care what they drive. My mom drives a 98 Malibu and loves it to death Won't catch me driving that.

I have a 17 year old and his life revolves around the freedom (and responsibility) a car affords him. Old guys 'occasionally' do dumb stuff that was unintentional. I know it will cost money and leave you hanging without your car but be nice to dad. A material object should never come between you and your dad. However he should learn a lesson (unless you parked it where you shouldn’t have been parked) and he should probably be grounded next weekend and rake the leaves and not allowed to watch Sport Center or the NFL this next weekend.

Yeah to be completely honest I regret and feel bad about getting angry at him. But I mean it's my car, you guys of all know how mad you'd get if someone backed into your car and cracked the grill, bumper, and hood. Basically I'm just trying to say I'm not a bad guy, I just got mad for 20 minutes and got over it.

The car payment is divided three ways between me, my mom, and my dad.

Pics this afternoon

Well he does live in Beverly Hills so that could explain why in the world someone would buy or cosign for a 17 year old on a 08 Acura TL-S. Even though its "your" car who someone had to sign for hope it gets worked out. Do you guys carry the same insurance or is all the cars on the same policy.

Do you live in his house? If you do, please appologize. It's a car, it's repairable.. Remember he was the guy changing your dirty diapers when you were an infant.

It was an honest mistake, don't make your father feel like crap.

So much negativity in this thread amazing how many people hate on someone just for the fact he happens to be young and has a tl, let alone lives in Beverly Hills and has a nice home. Anyways to be on topic sucks dude but you know what can you do shit like that happens unfortuantely just a part of life. I know it sucks for the fact you take good care of your car and try to maintain that. That is a excellent trait to have. But you know its just a car, and its a accident. If I had a dollar for everytime when I was younger that my father or my mother did accidently to my car or even my TL. But brush it off, it will be fixed in meantime and all will be better.

I am just saying the OP should be grateful to have an 08 TL-s at that age and he had to get help somewhere to get it. Probably one of his parents co sign so blowing up on your dad wasn't the best of moves.
