Wow ABS + VSA + Brembo's kick a$$

So I was driving to work today, my first day mind you. its raining a little bit, so you can imagine how traffic gets congested and near bumper to bumper traffic. Anyway I am following this van, and I just blink for one second, next thing I know the van in front of me is stopped for no apparant reason. I slam on my brakes bracing for a pretty bad impact and my first accident in over 10 years, then I feel the ABS kick in, I even swerve my car to avoid a head on collision. Next thing I know I am completely stopped with about 2 feet to spare. Then the van continues to move. No idea why he stopped, but since I could not see around him, I can only guess that the person in front of him stopped suddenly to turn or what not.

Not sure what exactly stopped me so quickly, but I guess it was a combination of the ABS, VSA and Brembo Brakes. Eventhough it was raining and the roads were kind of slick, the car did not skid AT ALL!. It seemed to stop on a dime. Saved my car and probably saved me from a pretty serious injury!

Hah close call.

The TL has EBD & Brake Assist (EBA?)... I did some heavy braking here and there this weekend, and they performed real well.

Anyway, glad to hear you avoided an accident.

This is exactly why you should give yourself a good distance away from the car, if possible change lanes to get a better view. I have the 5at and i think the brakes work a lil too good, the abs locks up nicely saving me hitting "juan" when the dumb ass swerved right in front of me today.

Good to hear you didn't hit anything. In cases like this, you had better hope the car behind you doesn't crash into you.
