Would you trade your TL for a 2006 Lexus IS350?
The 2006 Lexus IS350 is coming soon. I saw it at a car show and it's sweet! The Lexus website has info on the car, check it out. But for those 3G TL owners, would you trade yours for the IS350?

Only if the IS350 came in a manual.

Too fast and RWD... I don't need that here in Jersey... My next car should be an AWD... if the TL will be sold in AWD in it's next redesign that will definitely be an option... right now, if I had to trade (for a little more $$), I'd go with a GS300 AWD or the RL with SH-AWD
Plus... the IS is too small

I would buy another TL for sure, unless they improve the TSX even more, or come out with a more powerful coupe that looks great and has navi. But as it stands right now, I'd go right out and buy another TL when this one is ready to trade.

I've had my TL since March and enjoy it that I never have time to sit around and think what else I could be driving...........the S2000 was my dream car but I'm practical and with th rear wheel drive I could not be able to go to work on days that we get snow here in MA, so no I wouldn't trade my TL for anyhting, right now....

The 350 is about $7K more than the TL
With the price hovering around $40K, the 350 is about $5K more than a similarily equiped TL. The IS wiht the smaller engine is competitively priced but simply doesn't have the power our TL's have so the same dollars simply don't buy you as much with the Lexus. I love our GX470 but the NAVI on it is THE WORST. Can't change or select ANYTHING while in motion. Makes the damn thing nearly un-usable. I love the interior of the new IS (one was in a dealer here in Charlotte not so long ago) but the NAVI and lack of power for the same $'s simply makes it "just another car" IMHO

Is Manual really that big of a factor when you can get a car 40+ more HP and more features and better looking IMO, it is more expensive, but I thought it came in AWD Also

AWD only in the IS250, the 350 is RWD only

Typical 250 RWD probably 34-35
Typical 350 around 40-41
The 2 gen IS will sell a ton more than the 1 gen and it may be a parasite on the TL numbers to some extent, there are a lot of non-enthusists who will buy an IS 250 for the L on the hood and never notice RWD or the missing ~50 hp and appreciate the 32 MPG. Lack of a manual on the 350 may seem a big issue on the internet but in the real world it is pretty much a non-issue the numbers for a manual IS 350 don't seem to be resonable to support the addition.

I actually test drove an IS350 at the Taste of Lexus event in NY two weeks ago. Very nice car and quick. One little pocket rocket 306HP w/277 torque ...I couldn't test drive the 330 to compare it due to numerous people on line waiting. I think the price is too high to justify it. Off the line, it CAN beat the 330 but the 330 has an advantage in the handling dept...

I wouldn't. I am not a huge lexus fan, our next car has to be AWD(because of MA). RWD isnt really a problem if you know how to drive, though FWD definatly makes it better, and AWD is a whole other thing. As for the GS300 its underpowered, slower than the TL. Lexus, infiniti, Acura all need to make AWD models of the cars with the bigger engines. Does the IS have a DSG? If it does I wouldn't mind the tranny. I personally think its uglier than the TL, especially that front door line.

Bad choices in the poll.... it has NO... I AM LOYAL TO ACURA...
Well, I voted NO, but not because I am loyal to Acura but I keep cars a long time and I do not need to waste money getting something 'newer'... I am happy with what I have...
Now, ask me if I would change my mind if I did not already own a TL...
Then I will have to read up and see which is better, but from what people are saying here is is a good car.

Not yet, maybe in a couple of years... but I'll probably stick with Acura or move over to BMW (I guess I'm not very brand-loyal, but TL is my second Acura... and loving it.).

I have a 2000 TL and its been great, not one problem. I'm buying a new car in Nov and am buying either the 06' TL Nav, IS250 AWD or IS 350. Waiting on pricing and test drives.
I think the IS looks really sexy and don't mind the smaller back seat. The IS does have a bigger trunk than the TL though.
AWD may be the difference though.
